Client: Spaans Babcock Ghana

Date: June 2017 – May 2018

Details:

As part of MindNET’s role in developing Spaans Babcock waste-to-energy plant (SWEEP), there was a need to apply for a Provisional Wholesale Supply and Generation license which MindNET duly delivered in May 2018. The process involved a comprehensive and thorough intake of information on the project as well as compiling data from across multiple sources to complete the application.

As part of the application, MindNET had to analyse the most suitable waste-to-energy technology for the Ghanaian climate, eventually deciding on tried and tested incineration technology. Feasibility studies were carried out, and a trip to the potential EPC’s were completed all within the last two years.

MindNET created online channels for saving and storing all the information in relation to SWEEP. Contact spreadsheet was also created so as to allow for easy communication with relevant stakeholders to draw on information when needed, so when the application was submitted MindNET could easily address the information gaps the Energy Commission needed filled.
