Summary: Raising EUR 10 million in grant funding for a sanitation project

Details:

Our client required funding to invest into a waste to energy plant. We assisted the client to identify a viable grant opportunity called the “Ghana Wash Window” which is sponsored by the Dutch government towards sanitation projects in Ghana. We then put together a comprehensive proposal and won a EUR 10 million grant on behalf of the client, beating out 20 other companies competing for the same prize pot.

The process involved:

• Adding a new social impact dimension to the existing project involving youth micro entrepreneurship programs and improved governance systems within the local government agency (TMA)
• Proving that the project objectives fit best into Dutch foreign policy and providing economic and social justifications for receiving subsidy
• 100+ pages of project information and appendices in the exact format required by the Dutch government.
