Distribution and Sales of Pico Solar Systems

At the tail end of last year, Samurai Solar approached MindNET regarding their low sale of pico solar systems. They had previously managed 50 sales in their first year of operations and were looking to improve on these numbers. MindNET drafted a strategy to tackle this problem.

The crux of the strategy was to sell the pico solar systems to rural off-grid communities. Conducting preliminary feasibility studies and on-the-ground research, MindNET discovered that it would be profitable strategy to tailor sales for the off-grid market. Setting up a sales force and distribution outlets within a 2 month period, MindNET has sold over 200 devices on a meagre budget and also created brand presence.

In managing the project, MindNET created a sophisticated protocol of sales and information gathering to keep up with the project in real time from the office in Accra. A series of data sheets on each customer, each agent, and each sale was curated and reports have been provided for each week of operation.

There have been and continue to be problems with information lags and gaps, but constant risk assessment allow MindNET to keep pace with these happenings and react appropriately.
